PDF Page Extraction (Extract) Tool

This tool extracts the pages you select from a PDF and exports them as a new PDF (or, if you prefer, each page as a separate PDF). It does not “delete”; it does not alter the original file. You simply extract the pages you need and produce a new output.

• Separating only the necessary part, like signature page + appendices, from a 120-page file
• Sharing only the summary pages of the report
• Sending only the relevant clauses of a contract to the client

Usage Flow

1. Upload PDF (drag and drop)
2. Preview pages: quick selection with thumbnails
3. Select pages to extract
   • Single page selection (e.g. 1, 4, 9)
   • Page range (e.g. 5–18)
   • Optional: odd/even pages
4. Select output type
   • Single PDF: Selected pages are combined into a single PDF (most common use)
   • Separate PDFs: Each selected page becomes a separate PDF
   • Download ZIP: When separate PDFs are selected, all come in a single ZIP
5. Download: new file(s) ready

• Order is preserved: Pages are extracted without altering the order within the PDF
• Custom order (optional): You can arrange the selected pages in a different order for output (organizing logic)
• Selection by page number: Supporting mixed selections like “1,3,7-12” is a professional expectation

• Preview: Check “Will these pages be extracted?” (reduces the risk of selecting the wrong page)
• File naming:
  • Single PDF: extracted-pages.pdf
  • Separate PDFs: automatic numbering like page-001.pdf, page-002.pdf

3) Quality and Compatibility

• The page extraction process is typically done without re-rendering; meaning content quality is not degraded.
• Structural elements of the PDF, such as form fields / links / text selectability, are preserved in most scenarios (depends on the file structure).

PDF Page Deletion vs. Extraction (clarifies user intent)

• Page Deletion: You remove the page from the PDF and download the “remaining” part.
• Page Extraction (Extract): You take the page from the PDF and download the “selected” part. Both may seem similar to the user, but the intent is the exact opposite; it is correct to place both side by side in the menu.

Can I get the selected pages separately instead of a single PDF?

Yes. The “Each page as separate PDF” mode + ZIP output is the standard for this.

Can I select multiple ranges (like 1-3 and 10-12)?

Yes; this is the most efficient use. If you limit the tool to “only one range,” it will be weak.

Will the original PDF change?

No. The original file remains unchanged; you only get a new output.
