Create GIFs from Images

Combine multiple images in sequence to produce an animated GIF. Solve both “stylish demo” and “fast meme” tasks with a single tool using frame order, speed, loop, and size settings.

What does it do?

  • Takes JPG/PNG/WebP images as frames.
  • Combines frames to produce a single GIF.
  • Provides the following controls:
    • Ordering (frame order)
    • Speed (FPS / frame delay)
    • Loop
    • Resizing (resize)
    • Crop
    • Reverse / Boomerang
    • Optimize (reduce file size)
  • Output:
    • animation.gif
    • (Optional) animation.mp4 (if GIF is too large)

How to use? (step-by-step flow on screen)

  1. Upload images (multiple select / drag and drop)
  2. Sort frames (drag & drop)
  3. Select mode (Normal / Reverse / Boomerang)
  4. Set speed (FPS or ms delay)
  5. Set loop (infinite / X times / 1 time)
  6. Size & optimize (optional)
  7. Create GIF → Download

Speed settings (explanation that clears confusion)

You control the GIF speed in two ways:

  • FPS (Frames Per Second): Number of frames per second.
    • FPS ↑ → smoother and generally faster feel
    • File size ↑ (in most scenarios)
  • Frame Delay (ms): Duration each frame stays on screen.
    • Delay ↑ → slower animation

Short example:

  • 10 frames, delay 200ms → total ~2 seconds
  • 10 frames, delay 100ms → total ~1 second

Loop options

  • Infinite loop (default): ideal for social media
  • Play once: for presentation/documentation
  • Repeat X times: e.g., play 3 times, stop

Ordering and frame management

User wants real control here:

  • Change frame order with drag-and-drop
  • Delete / add frames
  • Duplicate a frame (pause effect)
    • e.g., “Let the product logo stay for 1 second” → duplicate the last frame 5 times
  • (Optional) “Sort by file name” and “Sort by upload order”

Reverse and Boomerang (full explanation)

Reverse

  • Reverses frames: 1-2-3-4 → 4-3-2-1
  • Usage: “rewind” effect, reverse transformation

Boomerang

  • Plays forward + backward: 1-2-3-4-3-2
  • Usage: social media, short loops, “there’s movement” feeling
  • Note: Care should be taken not to play the last frame twice (it gives a stutter feeling)

Resizing and cropping (the main control for GIF size)

The thing that most increases the file size in a GIF is resolution. Therefore:

  • Resize (recommended):
    • Long side: 1080px / 720px / 480px
    • “Maintain aspect ratio” should always be on
  • Crop (optional):
    • Square/16:9/9:16 presets
    • Especially for stories/reels, 9:16 is a good preset

Optimize (file size reduction) options

GIF inflates quickly; the optimization section should be clear:

1) Reduce color count

GIF relies on a 256 color limit. Tool:

  • Offers 256 / 128 / 64 color options
  • As the color count decreases, size decreases, banding may increase

2) Dithering control (optional)

  • Off: clearer but banding may be visible
  • On: transitions soften but size may increase

3) Reduce frame count (frame skip)

  • Like “take 1 of every 2 frames”
  • Works best in projects with a video feel

4) “Optimize for web” preset

With a single click:

  • 720px
  • 128 colors
  • Normal speed
  • Infinite loop. This preset saves most users.

Output format: GIF + (optional) MP4

The brutal truth: In some scenarios, GIFs can be unnecessarily large.

Therefore, place two options in the “Download” section:

  • Download GIF (classic)
  • Download MP4 (smaller) So the user doesn’t cry, “Why is the GIF 25MB?”

Ready presets (as detailed as you want detailed)

Present the following 3 presets in the UI with a single click:

1) Product Demo

  • Purpose: to make a smooth demo of the product image set
  • Speed: Normal (e.g., 6–8 FPS / 125–160ms delay)
  • Size: 1080px long side
  • Loop: Infinite
  • Optimize: Balanced (128–256 colors, medium dithering)
  • Usage: product angles, feature steps, mini catalog

2) Before / After

  • Purpose: to clearly show the change, not to rush
  • Frame count: 2 frames (Before, After)
  • Speed: Slow (e.g., 500–800ms delay)
  • Pause: duplicate each frame 2–3 times (to catch the eye)
  • Loop: Infinite or 3 times
  • Size: 1080px (720px if necessary)
  • Usage: retouch, design revision, cleaning/color correction

3) Meme / Fast

  • Purpose: fast loop, small file
  • Speed: Fast (10–15 FPS / 60–100ms delay)
  • Size: 480–720px
  • Loop: Infinite
  • Optimize: Aggressive (64–128 colors, frame skip optional)
  • Usage: reactions, short loop contents

Frequently Asked Questions

My GIF is too large, what should I do?

First, reduce the size (720px), then lower the color count to 128. If it’s still large, download as MP4.

How do I choose the speed correctly?

Product/before-after → slower. Meme → faster. The “Normal” preset is sufficient for most tasks.

Why is frame order important?

The order determines the story of the GIF. That’s why drag-and-drop is essential.
